I bought a 4.5 inch cold hammered forged barrel Alpha upper,(for $300 on sale)and the fit and finish is better than the potential alternative PSA. I matched the Alpha with the Psa 9mm glock billet lower and the take down pin is a pain to actuate. I have to use the back end of a tapered marker to knock it out with or without the upper receiver in place. The extractor piece on the lower is loose out of the box because the two screws are not tightened down enough. The lower extractor had an obvious burr at the tip too. The fit and finish on the Alpha upper is definitely more apparent. They make a lot of their components in house. After tightening down the Psa lower extractor screws with blue locktite the pistol ran perfectly with glock mags for over 1500 rounds now. As for “last round bolt hold open,” I was under the impression most AR platform 9mm’s have that lrbho as an option built in your lower receiver? Not 100% sure. The Alpha bcg on their website does offer an upgrade for added serrations to use the forward assist but I didn’t care about that and already knew there was no lrbho before purchasing the upper and lower because it’s cheaper cost wise with most manufacturers. Waiting for Black Friday to buy a second upper
Works flawlessly on all ar9 builds I’ve tried it on. The bcg has the correct cut for both Glock and Colt mag setups. No complaints whatsoever, and I’ve put at least 500rds of various 9mm ammo down range with this bcg.
I have bought two of these and they work great in a dedicated 9mm lower for the price cant beat them. I bought a psa 9mm hybrid thinking of best parts for my build paid $169 and it was nothing but a problem hitting follower on mag in three different guns again all dedicated 9mm lowers so trying to run it in ar-15 lower with adapters is not way to go
